European Parliament

As the Head of Press for the Swedish Social Democratic Delegation to the European Parliament, I led a team of five press officers and a digital strategist and was responsible for the delegation's external communication. In this role, I developed and implemented communication strategies, coordinated media outreach and formulated political messages, not least around the green transition, which was a particular priority area.

I developed communication strategies for the EU Green Deal and other sustainability initiatives. Produced video and digital content adapted for different audiences and platforms. I also had project management and budgetary responsibility for several major initiatives, including the production of a children's book on the work of the European Parliament.

2nd anniversary of Russia's

invasion of Ukraine, 2023

On the occasion of the second anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, I produced a short film with MEP Heléne Fritzon, which was published on the Social Democrats in the European Parliament social media channels.

It's called democracy!

A children's book about the European Parliament

The assignment was to lead a project to write a children's book about the European Parliament, using the world of animals to tell the story of how European democracy works in an easy-to-understand and fun way. I led the whole project from start to finish, which included contacts with politicians, authors, illustrators, graphic designers, printers, the European Parliament's financial administration and more.

I also wrote the book's appendix, which explains the EU's institutions and political foundations in an easy-to-understand way for children. The assignment also included producing promotional material, such as posters and roll-ups, and organizing the book launch event at Kulturhuset in Stockholm.

The book was initiated by Heléne Fritzon MEP, written by Jesper Lundqvist and illustrated by Marcus-Gunnar Pettersson.

Back cover of the book
Soffe is probably the laziest squirrel in the world. All he wants is to get out of climbing to relax. Luckily, he has found a tree lying by a pond. If only he can get the animals in the pond to stop chattering! It's impossible to get a quiet moment.

"We have to get the animals to cooperate," says Vingla the fly. She lives in the big house next to the park, the one that stressed-out people run in and out of all day.

The European Parliament, she calls it. "The people of Europe are working together," says Vingla. "They call it democracy."

"Dammocraxy!" Soffe exclaims. "We should have that too!" It's called Democracy! is a book about the importance of cooperation in general and EU cooperation in particular.
