Consulate General of Sweden in New York

As the Head of Communications at the Consulate General of Sweden in New York, I gained extensive experience of working in an organization that implements political priorities. I built and maintained a broad Nordic network through collaboration with other Nordic consulates. Developed new formats to reach new audiences through digital channels (public diplomacy). I participated in the planning and implementation of several major events such as Sweden Makes Music, Swedish Midsummer in New York and the Nordic section of New York Pride, where cooperation with the Nordic consulates was key.

As a photographer, I took responsibility for documenting all major meetings, receptions and events on behalf of the Consulate General. A selection of the photos from these meetings can be found below.

Ahead of the 2019 European Parliament elections, I planned and implemented an information campaign on the EU elections, targeting Swedes in the New York area, informing them about the elections and encouraging them to vote.

Vote in the 2019 European elections

In the run-up to the 2019 EU elections, I ran a campaign aimed at Swedes in the New York area, with the aim of informing them about the upcoming EU elections and encouraging Swedes to vote in the elections. The result was an increased turnout in the number of votes received at the Consulate General in New York.

The campaign consisted of a movie, poster and get-out-the-vote cards, as well as sharing images on the Consulate General's social media channels.

Poster and card with information on how to vote in the European elections for Swedes living abroad.
